Products Description

Agaricus blazei is also called Brazilian mushroom. It comes from the mountains of São Paulo State in Brazil. Later, people brought it to Japan and China for farming. This fungus is both edible and medicinal. In Japan, people call it the "king of mushrooms." We grow the fruiting bodies organically. Then we use low-temperature water extraction. Alcohol precipitation, membrane separation, and spray drying follow. The result is a fine powder. No harsh organic solvents are used. This method keeps Agaricus blazei's special active parts. These include a protein-polysaccharide complex called ABM-Fraction. It contains β-1,3/1,6-glucans. The fungus also has plenty of ergosterol and linoleic acid. Ordinary mushroom extracts are less effective. The ABM-Fraction has a unique β-1,6 branch structure. This structure activates gut immunity more strongly.

Agaricus Blazei Mushroom Extract POWDER

The finished powder is light brown to brownish-yellow. It gives off a typical almond-like smell. No irritating odor is present. Hot water dissolves the powder easily. The solution is light brown and slightly sweet, with a hint of almond. You do not need strong flavors to mask it. This natural taste gives it an edge in food products. It cuts down the need for artificial flavors. The powder flows well and has even particle size. That makes it good for capsule filling, tableting, and solid drink lines. Whole fruiting bodies are less concentrated. Our extract packs β-glucans and protein-polysaccharides into a small dose. Each batch gives stable active content for standard formulas.

In manufacturing, the powder picks up some moisture from the air. So work in a dry space. Its microbe counts meet export rules. No extra irradiation is needed. The product is non-GMO. It has no common allergens. Vegetarians can use it. We can also make custom specs with different polysaccharide/β-glucan ratios.

Products Functions

Agaricus Blazei Mushroom Extract Functions

1. Natural almond flavor, easy to formulate

Agaricus blazei tastes and smells like almonds, with a light sweetness. Bitter mushrooms need heavy flavor masking. This one does not. You can use it directly in coffee, meal replacements, and protein bars. The label stays clean.

2. Targeted gut immunity, different from ordinary polysaccharides

The ABM-Fraction is a special protein-polysaccharide. It wakes up immune cells in the gut's Peyer's patches. Its β-1,6 branches are easier for immune receptors to grab than regular mushroom polysaccharides. Clinical trials show Agaricus blazei raises NK cell activity. Placebo does not work as well.

3. Adjuvant chemotherapy, reduces leukopenia

Brazilian studies show breast cancer patients on chemotherapy have fewer drops in white blood cells when they take Agaricus blazei extract. They also feel less nausea and fatigue. Japanese cancer centers use it as supportive care. Other mushrooms have less direct evidence for this use.

4. Lowers fasting blood glucose, applied in Japanese functional foods

Several human trials in Japan tested Agaricus blazei extract. People with type 2 diabetes took 500-1500 mg daily for 8-12 weeks. Their fasting blood glucose fell by 10-20 mg/dL. The extract blocks α-glucosidase and improves insulin resistance. Japan has several Foods for Specified Health Uses (FOSHU) that list Agaricus blazei as an ingredient.

5. Preferred mushroom for pet immune support

In the US and European pet markets, Agaricus blazei is a top choice among medicinal mushrooms. It boosts NK cell activity in dogs and cats. This helps treat canine lymphoma and feline leukemia. Turkey tail is less palatable. Pets accept Agaricus blazei more easily.

6. Improves blood lipids, especially triglycerides

Agaricus blazei contains about 75% linoleic acid and β-glucans. Together they lower triglycerides. A study in people with high blood lipids gave them the extract for 12 weeks. Their triglycerides dropped by an average of 25%. Ordinary mushrooms did not work as well.

7. Liver protection, lowers transaminases

People with alcohol-related liver injury took Agaricus blazei extract. Their ALT and AST levels went down significantly. The extract raises glutathione and superoxide dismutase activity in the liver.

8. Anti-inflammatory, relieves atopic dermatitis

Lotions with Agaricus blazei extract reduce itching and redness in children with mild to moderate atopic dermatitis. This effect comes from blocking TSLP and IL-33. Scientists have only recently found this.

Products Application

1. Dietary supplements

Agaricus blazei extract works well in immune support, cancer adjuvant, and blood sugar management supplements. Take 500-1500 mg daily based on polysaccharides. Split into 1-2 doses with meals. Cancer patients may need 2-3 grams per day under a doctor's care. Capsules, tablets, and solid drinks are common forms. Often blend with reishi, turkey tail, or shiitake for stronger immune effects. For prediabetic people, mix it with chromium, cinnamon extract, and mulberry leaf. Make "blood sugar control capsules" to take before meals.

2. Functional foods

Use the natural almond flavor and light sweetness of Agaricus blazei. Make "immune coffee" or "almond latte" with 200-400 mg of extract per serving. You do not need added flavors. It also fits meal replacements, protein bars, cereals, teas, and jellies. These products get "immune-boosting", "blood sugar support", and "natural flavor" claims. Japan lists Agaricus blazei as an ingredient for Foods for Specified Health Uses (FOSHU). Keep processing heat below 80°C to protect the polysaccharides.

3. Cosmetics and personal care

Add 0.5%-2% Agaricus blazei extract to moisturizing repair creams, anti-inflammatory serums, soothing body lotions, and children's eczema creams. It strengthens the skin barrier. It fights oxidation and inflammation. Atopic dermatitis and sensitive skin improve. Mix it with ceramides, oat glucan, and shea butter. This makes fragrance-free repair lotions safe for long-term use by children and adults. Its natural brown tint can also color formulas.

4. Pharmaceutical intermediates

High-purity Agaricus blazei β-glucan (≥50%) can be an active drug ingredient. It helps make immunomodulators, anti-tumor adjuvants, and nutritional support for chemo/radiation patients. Japan and Brazil already use Agaricus blazei extract as a prescription adjuvant therapy. Drug-grade material must be sterile. It must also have low endotoxins and low heavy metals. DMF filing support is available.

5. Formulation combinations

Blood sugar control blend: Mix Agaricus blazei extract with mulberry leaf extract, chromium, and resistant dextrin. Use in pre-meal sachets or capsules. This helps steady blood sugar after meals.

Pet immune blend: Combine Agaricus blazei extract with turkey tail extract, curcumin, and fish oil. Make soft chews. These boost immunity in dogs and cats and support cancer treatment.

Chemo support blend: Mix Agaricus blazei extract with yeast β-glucan, arginine, and glutamine. Use in hospital enteral nutrition powders. This improves low white blood cell counts and fatigue.

Children's eczema care blend: Combine Agaricus blazei extract with oat kernel extract, ceramides, and allantoin. Make a fragrance-free repair cream. It eases dryness and itching.

Lipid-lowering cleanse blend: Mix Agaricus blazei extract with red yeast rice extract, plant sterols, and green tea extract. Use once-daily sachets. These help lower triglycerides and total cholesterol.
